Martin Goodman is the Lead Design Engineer at Centre for Industrial Services and Design. He brings experience of working in the highly regulated medical device industry.
Martin has worked in the areas of Electrosurgical, Endovascular, Ventilation & Catheter drug delivery. He has held R&D and sustaining roles in global companies. He has led projects on device design, packaging, labelling, sterilization, reliability, robotics and transfer to manufacturing. He is accustomed to ensuring compliance with varying regional standards and regulatory requirements across the world.
Martin has a MEng in mechanical engineering and PhD from The University of Sheffield. Shortly after being awarded a PhD studentship Martin relocated to The University of Glasgow with his supervisor where he became part of the applied mathematics group. His PhD focused on numerical modelling and simulation of Atherogenesis, presenting to the world congress of biomechanics in 2006.
Martin is interested in the interface between academic research and industry. His research areas of interest include Medical devices, building systems, and the intelligent use of materials to improve design and human health.
