Maya J. Frost


Ms. Frost is also a Research Scientist on an Innovation Partnership Project with Nelipak Healthcare Packaging, designing, and developing new technology for use in specialised packaging for healthcare products. She works in the field of polymer formulation and synthesis, pharmaceutical drug delivery, processing, stimuli responsive polymers, physical, mechanical, thermal properties of polymer composites. She is also a member of the Royal Society for Chemistry.

Ms. Frost initially trained as a Critical Care Paramedic at the Oregon Health Sciences University working in Emergency Medical Services both on the ground, in hospital and for critical air ambulance services. Ms. Frost obtained a BSc in Analytical & Forensic Science with a BSc (Hons) degree in Bioanalytical Science from Letterkenny Institute of Technology. Ms. Frost was awarded the Norbrook Barnett Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship and received her MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Ulster, Coleraine. She is currently a PhD Candidate at Athlone Institute of Technology under the supervision of Dr Luke Geever, Dr. Seán Lyons and Professor Clem Higgenbotham on the development of smart polymers for use in targeted drug delivery applications.
